>> Crazy Control FreakBoss ]
Anonymous writes of a fool thats been hauting them... how appropriate on this Halloween!

"Well-it's been 2 years since I've left but I am still haunted by this nutzy woman who went so far as to tell me WHERE on the papers I submitted to her, to place the paper clip! Standing over me to ensure it was 'Just a little to the left, no, you've got it wrong....let me show you.' Never one to give a compliment, she dogged my steps, my actions and my life, interfering in every aspect (I guess I gave her too much power--but after all, she paid my wages, right?) Her own office was a gigantic mess, papers everywhere, helter-skelter, yet she came in on Sat. to rearrange my SUPPLY CABINET because she didn't like where I kept the paper clips PAPER CLIPS!!)-- When I was elected to a prestigious office and gave several speeches, she always managed to be 'out of town' on those days...She would manage to be absent on the days there were special speakers from out of town and I would have to do the introductions, often winging it, and I got to be expert at that. Yet never a word of why, or a thanks for bailing her out...If I happened to be sick (G..forbid)she would call me at home and rant for 20 min. paying no heed to the fact that I really WAS ill and couldn't speak. Cold, mean-spirited, ruthless and friendless, I hope she finds whatever the h she is loooking for .....I am HAPPY to be out of her presence!!"

>> I Quit! ... or Did I?Boss ]
LittleIndian writes in one of the funniest mixups by a fool I have read in a while... but the fool saved a job at the same time...

"Yes, I quit my job. I gave them six weeks notice because my position requires about 200 hours of training, and I'm a nice guy. Then, my new-job-to-be didn't pan out. I talked to my manager about rescinding and found out that corporate HQ never received my resignation. The local HR cockroach never sent it up there. I wanted to cry."

>> No-senseBoss ]
Fedupski comments on his fool boss who can't seem to add things up during the week to help him out...

"I'm in the middle of a remodel and 2-room addition at home, which, if you've been through one, is akin to walking through the Gates of Hell. I asked for this Friday afternoon off so I could be home to let in the carpet cleaners and linoleum layers. My supervisor said that would only leave 3 people at work, so, no, I couldn't. So far this week, we have only had 3 people at work every day. Evidently it's only a problem when I need the time off."

>> Stupid MembersOther ]
foo writes in about a foolish situation with a customer on the site they work on... i think its a classic example of how fools have affected this persons feelings about work so much even the smallest issue is now huge... the power of the fool!

"So I am one of many admin for a membership based website, unfortunately I am the ring-leader. We developed this site from the ground up, we like it - it works very well. There seems to be a glitch though.

I get an email just the other day, 'hey foo, I can't upload an image, it seems to be broken. When can you fix it?' I'm inquisative, I give a peek over here, snoop a little there and VIOLA! image gets posted. So I reply, 'hey bar, it works just fine. Foo.' A mere fraction of a day later, I get the same email, 'hey foo, it's broke - fix it, By the way here's the image, can you just upload it for me.? Thanks, bar.' So I give it a go, but wait something is amiss - the image is sorta large.. It's freakin' 20mb! (but hey, it is only 175 px x 250 px)

So by itself, your probably like - so. But this...like.. once a week! Make it stop!!!!!"

>> Seperation of Church and WorkBoss ]
Going Out of My Mind writes in another barn burner for here I bet since the last religious based posting caused an uproar... remember people don't take things so close to heart... in the end we are just talkin about fools... have fun! Oh by the way... I worked with someone EXACTLY like this... scary to think I thought I was the only one suffering such a fate...

"It never fails, every Monday I have to sit in my cubicle and listen to a recap of Sunday's church events...not just once, but SEVERAL times (her cube is right next to mine). My supervisor would like to think of herself as a 'Christian,' but what 'Christian' talks about other people in the congregation?

Another thing that irks me is how she gets pissed off if something doesn't go her way (keep in mind, not work-related) and she tells whoever she's on the phone with that she's not going to let it bother her and that she'll get over it. Not a minute goes by that she's not on the phone telling her story to someone else, saying the same exact thing. If she's not going to let it bother her, then why does she call everyone in her phone book to tell them about it?

AND, another thing that bugs the hell outta me is how she stands up from her cubicle, makes a general announcement to our small group, and then gets irritated if we don't look at her and acknowledge what she's said. Umm, we're adults, I think we can listen without looking directly at someone.

Thanks for letting me vent!"

>> Markers before patients...Boss ]
Anonymous writes in about dollars at the hospital being used by fools...

"I've been fairly lucky in my working life as far as supervisors go. I had one particular boss though, that really drove me nuts. I was a 'team lead' along with 3 other women who reported to this woman. She decided one day that that some of the mail that came to our office from the hospital needed to have neon colored labels so that they would be easily identified. She asked for colored labels and was told that they weren't on the approved ordering list (the stupidity of who decided what could and could not be ordered is another story in itself). She decided that this wasn't going to prevent her from carrying out her grand plan. She called me and my 3 co-workers into her office and told us to grab a marker and a stack of white mailing labels. For the next 4 hours, the 5 of us sat in her office coloring the white labels with the neon markers. Now, while my salary was not as high as it should have been, all of us were making well over $20 per hour. She told staff we weren't to be disturbed as we were doing very important work. There wasn't a supervisor on the floor for 4 hours and apparently all hell was breaking loose. I was transferred to another department shortly after that and she's still wasting company time and money with stupid projects."

>> Family AffairWork ]
Call me /:<) tells us about a family run business gone awry with fools...

"I work for a family-owned business, a very 'dysfunctional' family business. The President of the company, up until a few months ago, was a woman. Her brother was also a part owner along with his wife.

The current business climate being what it is the company was not being very profitable. The brother and his wife decided that they want to take over the company and voted the sister out and took over in a somewhat bloodless coup. The new president and his wife made some pretty stupid decisions and now we have cut the staff by 1/3, increased the workload of most employees by 50% and they expect the employees to work 10-12 hours a day when they themselves wouldn't be caught dead in the office before 8 or after 5.

They lied about replacing people who quit, leaving a department short-handed, figuring the same work could be done by a third less staff in the department. They hired a 'consultant' to tell us what most of the employees have been saying for years about what we need to do to make money in this business. I wonder how much MONEY they spent getting someone to tell them all of this bull&*(t.

There comes a point where the lack of people compromises the quality of the work performed. Not that they give a s&*t about any of that. I think that they are probably going to try and sell the company as soon as they can make it look profitable on paper and find someone to buy it.

Well, I know most people would say 'then get out if you don't like it', but it's not easy after being someplace for 10 years to just leave your place of employment, so I just sit back, do what I can in the amount of time I spend in the office and go home to my wife and forget about this place until tomorrow!! Here's to retirement!!"

>> Why don't they leave me aloneRant ]
too many bosses not enough workers obviously just needed a place to rant about some fools... I am sure there will be comments... there always are...

"Today the big boss took me into the office to chew me out over a stupid price adjustment which made in error because I let, and trusted a employee who has worked there ten years tell what to do. This person was wrong, and lied . This made me responsible for the adjustment. But, I did not do this on purpose. I trusted someone I should not have. This person told the costomer I would do it, she put me and my job on the spot. If I had said no, the costomer would have made a scene. And still would have gotten there way. So, this jealous bitch, deliberetly lied to me to get me in trouble now my boss is not happy with me. Even though he knows this other person interfed. I hate my job, I hate that place, I wish I could find a different job with people who didnt talk shit."

>> Too many bosses and not enough workersRant ]
overworkedandabused just wants to do the job their boss gave them but other fools are on the hunt...

"I have recently been promoted by a great guy, who has seen my qualities others do not appreciate. This man has left for his vaction, supposily the man who was supposed to train me didn't cause he was too busy planning his move. So, I am left learning the rest of my job as supervior alone. Everyone hates me because I was given this job. Everyone who is a supervior in this division, has been on a witch hunt, trying to get me fired well the man who promoted me is on vaction. I have to do schdueling of workers who mostly are all friends. It has been hard to deal with people who want every weekend off, and only work day hours. The previous supervior was always letting certain workers come late or certain friends of previous workers get all weekends off. So, when I came into the picture I treated everyone fairly and equal leaving the other slacker hating me. What ever happened to treating the hard worker with respect and rewarding them with a weekend off. I do not have favorities - I do respect the workers who work as a team, have good attendance. So, what can I do when the so-called friends of previous boss are after me. I wish I could kick there asses and quit, but I do not want to give them that satisfaction."

>> Lazy MoronsFools ]
some girl writes and lets us know firstly about a job that is underappreciated and I want to let her know that I think its a fantastic job... keep up the great work... but as usual a fool lurks near...

"I work at a treatment facility for adolescents. I have been there for three years. I started out doing overnights for a year, and moved on to days an up the ladder just a very little. I have to do all sorts of things for my job, anything from going to court hearings, testifying, and dealing with lawyers to picking nits out of a child's hair and cleaning vomit. But I love my job, and could never complain about it, because that is why I have a job.

So This jerk at work is notorious being lazy, watching tv, ignoring the kids, and for upsetting the clients, and escalationg situations and then handing them off to other staff. (the problem here being that he cannot physically stop a child from injuring other people or running away because he refuses to take the required class that would allow him to do so.) So, many a time I have had to physically restrain a kid because of crap he escalated, which is not only undesirable to me, but it creates a lot of paperwork as well, and is unnecessary.

He now works on the overnights, and so he has to do a lot of building junk while the kids are sleeping. (take out garbage, clean stuff, check on the kids, clean crap out, etc)

Anytime something comes up that is not on his regular checklist, he gets all whiney. He recently posted a note in our clock-in room about someone leaving some laundry in, and he had to put it in the dryer, the washer needed to be cleaned out. (I should explain that overnights always have to bring movies to stay awake, because the night is so long, and you get all the work done within the first hour, and then there are 8 more hours to go, so it was not a time issue.)

So tonight I told him that I did not appreciate the note. He got all defensive, said He was being peofessional by posting it, and that the day people were lazy to not do it right. I told him to settle down and to suck it up, because there are going to be unpleasantries in this job, and the fact that he did not notice that by now should only show him his own laziness and ignorance. HE called me an idiot and told me he ws going to take it to our boss. I told him Great, go ahead she will love to be bothered by this trivial stuff, because the one thing nobody will ever accuse me of is being above doing anything for my job or being lazy. I can't wait til he tells her."

Siccmade_1 documents several days of foolishness...

"I would like to start this by informing the readers that I work Tech Support in a call-center (don't worry, it's not telemarketing:

7/21: Today, a head-trainer from the training department asked me 'why does the mailman pick up mail?'

8/17: Today as I left my office, I witnessed one of the floor-supervisors spraying water on a DRY ERASE board to wipe the markings off.

9/30: Today a 60 year old employee (2 days into training) resigned when she found out that Elvis Presley was dead. She also stated that 'The government is after me, so I can't really work anyway.' and 'I know there are cameras planted in the walls. they could be watching me right now.'"

>> The pack of hyena, in wait for the daily catch... The one who takes credit for your years of work, and professes to be religious and goodRant ]
Daily Nausea wrote in with a submission that I can relate to having worked in the past with someone like that... I had to build up a report against someone who was like that that didn't work either... in the end I left that job. Hopefully you can escape too...

"Did you ever meet anyone, who instead of doing their own work, waits until you agonize to figure things out, and then looks over your shoulder, (while not even trying) and says you know how to do it, now you can 'teach' me (AKA, I can rob from you).

And, this happens day after day, year after year, like a hyena in wait. And cummulatively, they have never done anything other than copy others.

And, would they ever even dream of attempting to read a book or piece of literature on the gadget to figure it out? Why they said, when I can just get the information from you, (to glorify myself and how good I am). And, this is to take advantage of another human it is common sense.

Sad part is to hide behind the face of being a 'good' person."

>> Hotel Guests: Dumbest of the DumbRant ]
You Want Fries With That? shares with us those conversations with customers that just leave your jaw open and speechless at times...

"I worked at the front desk of a hotel for about two years. It was at a major ski resort in the Rocky Mountains, destination of stupid tourists. "

Dumb Guest #1: "Can you tell me which of these mountains is the Rocky Mountains?"

Dumb Guest #2 (calling from room): "What time is it?"
Me: "8:30."
Dumb Guest #2 "Is that Colorado time?"
(I actually laughed in the phone, wondering why in the world I would give her the time for another time zone).

Dumb Guest #3 (calling to get room rates): "How much would a room with a queen bed be?"
Me: "$69.95 plus tax"
Dumb Guest #3: "Is that in American dollars?"
ME (well, I didn't actually say this, but i thought it): "No, that's 69.95 in Yen. If you want the conversion into American dollars you'll have to call someone who doesn't think you're an idiot."

Dumb Guest #4 (team captain for a European Men's Ski team): "Someone stole my skis."
Me: "Someone stole your skis? Were they in your room?"
Dumb Guest #4: "No, they were right outside the door."
Me: "You left your skis in the hallway?"
Dumb Guest #4: "No, outside the front door of the hotel. They where there last night, but I went outside this morning and they're gone."

And last but not least:

Dumb Guest #5: "Could you tell me how much the complimentary breakfast costs?"

>> Idiotic people are everywhere...Work ]
Anonymous writes to us about something that I am sure has happened at many offices around... trust me it bothers me as is with just those internal messages to all... like I care?!?!

"We have four offices, one in Montreal (I work there), one in Toronto, and also in Los Angeles and Paris. Our email program as the ability to send emails to company groups, such as local office staff, building, etc., and of course, worldwide.

We usually get worldwide memo about upcoming events that affects the entire company, that's okay. But I never get over the fact that we receive worldwide crap such as 'who left their lunch in the fridge?' (Toronto), and 'Somebody forgot their keys at the front office?' (Los Angeles), and 'I'm going out to Gustave for lunch, anybody want to join me?' (Paris).

We get to roll on the floor whenever we get these, and complain about the idiots working in the other offices and how ashamed these people should be of their co-workers.

Well, we had a big meeting last Thursday and since it lasted pretty long we ordered in some pizzas. As I got back to my office from the meeting, I saw an email from our boss...

'There's pizza left over from the meeting, I left the rest in the kitchen, if anybody wants some, come and get it!'

And, as you can guess, it was sent worldwide...

I'm so ashamed of working here..."

HUUUUH? So, are we supposed to bring tailgate food, or can we bring anything we want? Not to mention there's ususally a lot of beer at a tailgate party, but I can't imagine that being permissible at 11:00 in the company breakroom!

>> No titleBoss ]
uselessdegree writes...

"I'm a project manager at a small company. My boss's assistant quit about 2 months ago (his 6th in a year) so he constantly hunts me down to do her work. I'm ridiculously busy as it is, but the fact that EVERY single thing he's asked me to do for the last two months had NOTHING to do with the company (which he also owns) makes me want to cry. He has me type out all of his personal letters which he has handwritten and then makes me do at least three drafts until they are perfect. He has the grammar of an illiterate goat, so this takes a freaking eternity. He makes me fill in his checks on a typewriter. I have an entire department to look after!

Today he had me type up another personal letter on my computer. Then he wanted to send it from his email. I said I'd forward it to him, but that wasn't good enough. I had to print it out and re-type it directly onto his computer, with him standing over my shoulder watching. Then he makes me get up so he can sit down and re-read it. Then, instead of making the corrections himself, he makes me sit back down and do the corrections. THERE WERE 2 CORRECTIONS. He couldn't delete 2 words by himself!

It's been two months, and only TWO people have interviewed to be his assistant. As if he wasn't a big enough idiot, he refuses to so much as interview a man as his assistant, or to ask any of the men in the company to do this job. Even though the guy in the office DIRECTLY NEXT TO HIM does nothing all day (literally), he still calls me up every ten minutes (I work a floor away). Why me??? By the way, any women out there looking to be an assistant to a deranged lunatic?"

>> Love that SpamRant ]
NotSoBigBlue writes...

"I work for the strategic outsourcing and consulting side of a large computer maker. Unfortunately email is a staple for doing business, inside the company and with the customers. About a year ago I started noticing somewhere between 80-120 spam hitting my mailbox daily. Some easy to distinguish (i.e. Teens doing farm animals), some not so easy. So it was becoming a bit of an issue, especially when I'd leave for vacation, and come back to the mail admin complaining about mail storage. Well a couple months of that and a notice was sent stating it seems a disgruntled employee sold the company email list (whatever happened to people just directing their anger towards management). So in the infinite wisdom of the Lotus Notes mail admins...instead of using common sense, they instituted the policy of tagging spam with '[Probable Spam]', and leaving it in the mail. Woohoo."

>> This is why we don't date coworkers...Rant ]
Poor Me shares a story about foolish coworker dating...

"I went out with this guy from work a few times. He was really nice and I liked him a lot. I didn't tell anyone else at the office because I wasn't sure that he would want everyone to know, and I really didn't want everyone in my business anyways.

So, we went out for a while and one day he showed up in my office, out of the blue and introduced himself to one of my new coworkers as my boyfriend. Then, he kissed me in front of everyone. Anyways, we were supposed to go out that night, and he never called me. I called him and left him a message and never heard back from him. The following Monday I ran into him and he walked right passed me as if he had never seen me before. The next day he slammed a door in my face as I was coming out of the employee lounge. Sometimes when I see him he'll smile and say hi as if nothing had ever happened, but other times he totally ignores me or looks really angry to see me. At first I tried to talk to him just to find out what the hell happened, but he totally ignored me. One of the other guys at work that I'm friends with says that he heard the jerk telling someone that he had to end it because I was telling everyone at work about our relationship. He's the one that was broadcasting it to my coworkers! His behavior is totally bizarre and confusing. However, instead of avoiding him I find myself going out of my way to run into him, just to see his daily reaction because his mood towards me seems to change daily. So, don't date the crazy person at work...you'll regret it one way or another!"

>> Why Me?!Work ]
Sick&Tired tells us about that little innocent looking old lady that we all somehow have encountered at some point in our lives...

"I'm a medical assistant at a small hospital in the middle of a predominantly geriatric town. I love my job, but let's put it this way, I would like it even more if it weren't for some of the patients and most of the doctors.

But this story is not about either of those slight annoyances. Ya see, I work with this awful old woman. She's lazy and slow. I understand that she is old and frail and can't move as quickly as myself, or the other girls on our shift, but for god's sake, she could stand to move her ass a little bit once in a while. She makes up stupid chores for herself, which are never important or urgent in the least, meanwhile, I'm running all over the damn hospital helping doctors and working on Stats.

She is also some sort of Born Again Christian, which is her business and there's nothing wrong with it, but I certainly don't need to hear about how every person in the world is going to hell. She is constantly passing out handouts on her church, to everyone including doctors who are obviously not Christians. One day I was sitting in the office with her and she began writing down bible versus that I should 'check out for my own salvation.' She's made comments about how homosexuality is a sin and that gays need to repent, despite the fact that there are many gay men in our department. She's also told me that I need to accept Jesus and repent before the 'Rapture,' when I told her that I was Jewish.

I didn't complain at first, because I thought she was just a poor old lady, but now I'm so sick of filling in her for her and doing twice the work. Tons of people have complained about her from doctors to housekeepers, but management, who admits that she's useless, will not fire her because she only has a year left til retirement. I guess they're afraid she'll sue or something, but it's getting ridiculous!"

>> Incompetent Abusive Boss Gets PromotedBoss ]
Sloth11 vents here about a boss that thankfully he/she left behind nothing worse than workin for a fool.

"As I no longer work at this place (a state university), I for one don't care about naming names.

After I worked there as a full time employee for a year, a new project manager was hired. I'll call her 'Neslie Lemmings.'

Things were spiffy keen until Neslie arrived. It was a very laid back atmosphere.

After she had been there a few months, Neslie began making us attend weekly staff meetings that accomplished nothing. I even saw the #1 boss (I'll call him 'Larry') nod off during one of her pointless meetings -- I mean he literally nodded off, I'm not trying to be 'ha ha' funny here.

We had to place our work hours in triplicate and begin submitting weekly status reports.

I could go on and on, but my point is that 'Neslie E. Lemmings' is a bureaucrat. She loves office politics (especially the nasty kind where she stabs people in the back) and being fake.

She also abuses her subordinates, but not in an obvious manner. She does so in a more subtle way, which makes it easier for her to go uncaught by higher-ups. I was only one among several whom she harassed.

Neslie is so awful that people in other departments, including faculty persons, hate her and want nothing to do with her

To top it all off, she is incompetent. She manages a group of people who make websites, but she knows nothing about the web. One example: she had to get a co-worker to show her how to open an e-mail attachment. I am not kidding.

'Neslie' only got the job because her hubby was a dean there, and that's the only reason why she stays. Too many people are afraid to fire her.

I found out she got promoted several months ago. The woman gets a pay raise for abusing staff. Incredible."

>> SUCKER !!!!!!!!!!!!Other ]
Anonymous writes in with a sad tale one in which I don't thing he/she needs to be stuck at... I say get out and try and find a new niche to work in... no need to deal with that.

"Well I work for this store which we have a post office and we ship ups and fedex. I've been there for almost 6 years. I was hired part time which was fine. The owner of the store decided to go back to college so I got stuck working about 50 hours a week as a manager. The sad thing about this was I neglected everything around me, doctors appts. for the kids, school meetings, you name it I couldn't do it. I was the only one that ran the store Monday thru Friday. So a few years down the road the store was finally being sold which I thought this was a good thing, but I did not realize I was being sold with the store! I was never asked if I wanted to stay. They all assumed I would. So to make a long story shorter, the new owners are here and I am stuck once again. The new owners are very nice people, butI can't do this anymore. I don't owe them anything. I now hate my job and everyhting that has to do with it and the customers I can't even get started with that! The funny thing about this picture is that one of the owners already wants time off from her job the buisness she now owns, which is a huge joke. The only reason why I stayed on with this job is because the orignal owner wanting to go back to school and I wanted to help her out. Oh what a sucker I am. The sad thing about this whole thing is I feel like I can't get out I am stuck forever is this dreadful job. Oh well I vented a little thank you! Any comments?"

>> I now understand violence in the workplace.Fools ]
PeteyThePeon shares his frustration with a none to bright fool who just can't seem to grasp the concept of an attachment.

"I am a packaging coordinator at a music entertainment company. I get a lot of request for electronic artwork. These requests come through our sales dept. and I then have to send them to the art dept. to be collected. This foolishly time-consuming process is made 10X more ridiculous by sheer stupidity of a certain catalog coordinator, who I will call Hank.
Back in June, Hank requested electronic art for about 25 titles. Each of these takes about 3-5 minutes, so the time adds up. In July, he made another request, claming he never got the first group. In August he repeated this process. Last week, I get an email from an irate sales guy, Bill. Bill says that Hank STILL hasn’t gotten the original files, or any subsequent files, he requested. We are now talking about 50 titles. I resend the files to Hank, along with an email saying, “Please let me know when you’ve received all 6 emails”. He writes back saying he got them and all is well... or so I thought.
I get another email from Bill—who is about to have a stroke—saying that Hank STILL doesn’t have the files. At this point, I’m starting to think that Hank’s alternate personalities have been delete his email attachments. The art dept. and I go through hell and high-water to try to figure out what’s going wrong and try to resend these AGAIN.
Finally, this morning, I get an email from Bill, with a transcript of his EXACT conversation with Hank:

-----
BILL: I can't quite understand the situation since you sent tell me you haven’t gotten these files, and then Petey shows me an email she got from you saying you did...

HANK: (sounds surly and not too personable. Or intelligent): Yeah, I didn't get them.

B: But you say you received the 6 e-mails.

H (still surly): Oh, is that what they were? (pause) I guess I'll have to check.

B: Please do.
-----

Well, problem solved... I guess."

>> The rock is in the air...Fools ]
s_anon write in those short submissions that for me always make me laugh because they are that good... those damn fools!

"On our job site we have a four inch water pipe that comes out of the ground and feeds our water supply in the office. It has four concrete posts, wrapped in steel, around it to protect it from being hit by loaders and such.

One guy decided to throw a chunk of concrete at the posts to hear the clang! He missed and busted the pipe.
Sadly, the posts don't protect against fools."

>> "Don't rock the boat" mottoWork ]
Anonymous writes in telling us about state agency fools who are working together to not work at all...

"I work for a state agency, run by good ol boys in a small town. Their motto is, "Don't rock the boat". That means that if a coworker knows that another one is abusing state time (coming to work late every morning, taking a hour lunch time instead of the half hour alloted to them, and last but not least, parking in a handicap spot even though they are not handicapped), that the honest coworker should keep their mouths shut about it. The lame supervisors see how the dishonest coworkers are, but turn a blind eye to it all because they don't like confrontations with subordinates, and don't want anyone to be mad at them. One of the supervisors is a female who shuts her office door most of the day, talking on the state phone with personal calls, or takes naps. The bossman over her knows this, but looks the other way. One of the gal smokers goes out to smoke every half hour, for 10 mins., takes her half hour lunch break, but afterwards, goes outside and sits and reads romance books for another half hour. As an honest employee, I get so frustrated that this is all happening, has always happened and will always happen due to lame supervisors. My morale is way down, and now I'm thinking of ways to take an hour lunch too. And start parking in the handicap spot. Hey, no one cares one way or the other. And when I see that one of the lame gal coworkers does her work incorrectly, I'm not going to correct her, I'm just going to let it go, because I figure no one cares around here if something is going wrong. Around this state agency, no matter if you are a dedicated, honest employee, or a lame, lazy, dishonest one, its all the same to the lame supervisors."

>> NO... You Shut Up!Boss ]
Construction Crazies writes in about a bad case of temper...

"My boss (who tends to have a bit of a temper) aproached my desk last Friday. He begins to go into a huge long story about a request he has for me to do. As soon as he starts talking, I realize that I know what he's talking about, the project has been completed and is sitting on his desk. SO, I try to interupt him to save us all the agony of hearing this one more time. He says, 'No. Let me finish talking.' and just keeps right on. I try again. This time he yells, 'NO YOU SHUT UP! WHEN I'M TALKING YOU BE QUIET UNTIL I'M DONE AND THEN YOU CAN TALK!' So I sit back and tune him out until he's finally finished. I look up and say, 'It's on your desk.' Too bad for him he can't think of anything to say to THAT. And also too bad for him, my last day with this company will be tomorrow, but I'm not really saying anything to him right now, so he doesn't know yet."

>> I gotta get out of here!Boss ]
needsanewjob writes in actually asking for more work and trying to advance ahead but is stuck with a fool...

"I am the office manager for a one man operation. I handle all aspects of the office, A/P, A/R, Payroll (for myself), making appointments for my boss, blah, blah, blah. Unfortunately, my boss is an idiot. I have been begging him for over a year to give me more to work (I am in the office for 8 hours and generally have about 4 hours of down-time where I have nothing to do). In the mean time, bills go unpaid (our phines have been shut off 3 times in ine year), my hand written pay check has been recceived at hte bank against insufficient funds (always covered but still unnerving), telephone calls go un-returned and I get hollared at for not giving him the message' (which I always do), a being generally abused by people he should be dealing with but refuses becasue he is too busy with his personal life. He even has me researching things on the internet for his personal business while work in the office gets ignored becasue he has to do his thing before I can do mine. Frankly, if the shoe was on the other foot and he worked for me, I wiuld have fired him a long time ago. I am looking for a new job that pays me a decent wage (I am currently paid very well but hate the job). I am registered with many on-line services who send me daily e-mails about jobs that are available. I have applied for about 35 jobs in my area on-line and 8-10 jobs in person and no bites. I even have someone working on my resume to 'spruce it up' so that it catches the eye of someone who will hire me. I just can't work with this guy any more! He is driving me crazy."
